Celebrating Community: MUNA Social Services Hosts a Memorable BBQ Event

On July 4, 2024, MUNA Social Services brought the community together for a spectacular BBQ event in front of Baitul Mamur Masjid and Community Center. The celebration was a resounding success, with over 2,000 people in attendance, including local community leaders and elected officials such as Council Member Chris Banks. This day was filled with delicious food, fun activities, and vibrant community spirit.

The event featured a mouthwatering menu that included BBQ chicken, hot dogs, corn on the cob, watermelon, grapes, and a variety of beverages, including soda and water. The highlight of the culinary offerings was a bubble tea stall, serving an array of tasty drinks that quickly became the main attraction.

In addition to the delicious food, the event offered plenty of entertainment for attendees of all ages. Children delighted in the rides and enjoyed sweet treats like cotton candy and popcorn. The joyful atmosphere and the array of activities created a perfect setting for families and friends to come together and celebrate.

This Community BBQ was more than just a festive gathering; it was a testament to the strength and unity of our community. MUNA Social Services is proud to host events like these, fostering connections and creating lasting memories. Thank you to everyone who joined us, including our esteemed community leaders and officials, who made the day truly special. We look forward to many more celebrations that bring our community closer together.

Empowering Communities: A Successful Food Distribution Event with Senator Roxanne J. Persaud

In a milestone moment for MUNA Social Services (MSS) New Jersey, the organization held its first-ever fundraising event at Toros Restaurant in Clifton, NJ. This special evening brought together MSS leadership, local philanthropists, and elected officials, including the Mayor of Prospect Park, NJ, in a shared commitment to fighting food insecurity. The event was a resounding success, with attendees coming together to support a vital cause—sustaining the food pantry operations in Paterson and Prospect Park. Through generous donations and pledges, MSS will continue providing essential groceries to families in need across these communities. “We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support,” said Dr. Jahangir Kabir, MSS Director of Operations and Communications. “This event marks the beginning of a stronger, more sustainable effort to ensure no one in our community goes hungry.” With this successful fundraiser, MSS New Jersey is looking ahead to expanding its impact and strengthening its food relief initiatives. Thank you to all who contributed—together, we are making a difference!
